In 2020, Britain’s current Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, co-signed a letter advocating for the suspension of deportation flights carrying foreign criminals.

One of these flights was intended to deport convicted child rapist Fabian Henry, while others involved individuals who later went on to commit serious crimes, including murder, in the UK.

Human rights lawyers intervened at the last moment, successfully halting the flights, citing concerns over potential violations of human rights and the risk posed by deporting certain individuals.
