Pori, Finland A Finland-based human rights organization has raised alarm over the continued administrative detention of a 21-year-old US citizen in Israel, with no charges filed and family contact reportedly barred.
Finn Right Raises Alarm Over Detention
Finn Right, a human rights commission based in Pori, Finland, said it is “profoundly alarmed” over the case of Natalie Abudayyeh, a 21-year-old described as a US citizen, Palestinian Christian athlete, and Lutheran youth leader.
According to the organization, Abudayyeh has been held in administrative detention meaning without formal charge since June 2, 2026.
Detained in Damon Prison, Bail Denied
Finn Right states that Abudayyeh is currently held at Damon Prison in Israel and is set to remain there until at least September 23, following a military court hearing held on July 21.
The organization says all requests for her bail have been denied by the military court, and that family contact has been entirely prohibited during her detention.
No Official Charges Disclosed
As of this report, no specific charges against Abudayyeh have been publicly disclosed by Israeli authorities.
Finn Right’s statement does not cite the legal basis cited by the military court for her continued detention.
