The United States may consider a pre‑emptive military operation against Iran, and is increasing forces in the Middle East, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said.

Rubio stated that Washington does not rule out preventive military action to stop potential Iranian attacks on American troops or allied facilities, though he added he hopes such a scenario can be avoided.

He also confirmed that the U.S. is boosting its military presence in the region to protect its personnel and interests amid rising tensions with Iran.
