A devastating Russian airstrike in Kyiv claimed the lives of a 32-year-old woman and her two-month-old baby, as Moscow launched a massive overnight assault on Ukraine’s capital. Rescuers later pulled their bodies from the rubble of a residential building destroyed in the strike.

According to Ukrainian officials, Russia launched more than 800 drones and at least a dozen Iskander missiles in what has been described as a new grim record of attacks. The assault targeted multiple cities, causing widespread destruction, power outages, and fear among residents.

Emergency services reported that several others were injured, while dozens of families have been displaced after residential blocks and public infrastructure were hit. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the strikes, calling them another example of Russia’s “terror against civilians.”

Military analysts warn that the intensity of these attacks highlights Moscow’s strategy of exhausting Ukraine’s air defense systems ahead of winter.

International leaders have strongly condemned the latest Russian strikes, with many expected to meet in the coming days to discuss new military aid and humanitarian support for Ukraine.

Diplomatic sources suggest that additional air defense systems, financial assistance, and emergency relief packages could be on the agenda as pressure mounts on Western allies to step up their response.
