Former US President Donald Trump has filed a $15 billion defamation lawsuit against the New York Times, accusing

the newspaper of being a โ€œmouthpieceโ€ for the Democratic Party and of spreading false information to damage his reputation.

Trumpโ€™s legal team claims the Times deliberately published โ€œdefamatory and misleading contentโ€ that crossed the line of responsible journalism.

The lawsuit follows reports that the New York Times was warned of possible legal action by the White House after publishing articles

about a crude birthday note allegedly linked to late financier Jeffrey Epstein. The note bore Trumpโ€™s signature, but he has strongly denied writing it.

This legal battle highlights Trumpโ€™s long-running feud with mainstream media outlets and has once again sparked debate over press freedom, political bias, and defamation law in the United States.
