NATO Air Command reported that five Russian military aircraft, including Su-30, Su-35, and three MiG-31 fighter jets, were detected flying near Latvian airspace.

In response, two Hungarian Air Force Gripen jets were scrambled from Šiauliai Air Base in Lithuania to intercept the Russian planes.

NATO said the aircraft were closely monitored as part of routine air policing in the Baltic region.
