New Details Surface in Poland Robbery Case Involving Four Swedish Citizens

New information has emerged in a high-profile criminal investigation in Poland involving four Swedish citizens accused of carrying out a violent robbery against a Norwegian tourist at knifepoint in the city of Gdańsk.

Polish prosecutors have confirmed that the suspects were arrested after allegedly threatening the victim with a knife, stealing his belongings, and forcing him to withdraw money from his bank account.

Authorities say the suspects were detained at Gdańsk airport while preparing to board a flight back to Gothenburg.

The incident has attracted international attention across Poland, Sweden, and Norway after prosecutors released new details about one of the accused men and his previous violent criminal record.

The four suspects were identified by prosecutors as:

  • Arran Acib Ahmed, 23
  • Mohamad H., 17
  • Jabril H., 18
  • Senal Saned O., 19
  • Citizens

All four are Swedish citizens and are currently facing serious criminal charges in Poland.

What Happened in Gdańsk?

According to prosecutors in Gdańsk, the Norwegian tourist had traveled to Poland with a friend earlier this month.

On the evening of May 6, the victim reportedly visited bars and nightlife venues in central Gdańsk before meeting a group of Swedish citizens.

Investigators say that after leaving one of the venues, the suspects allegedly followed the tourist into the city center. At that point, four of the men are accused of attacking him.

Prosecutors allege that one of the attackers placed a knife against the victim’s chest while the group demanded his mobile phone, bank card, and personal identification number.

Authorities say the suspects then forced the victim to withdraw thousands of Norwegian kroner from cash machines before using his stolen card for additional purchases and withdrawals.

Authorities said the victim lost a significant amount of money in Norwegian currency before officers located the suspects and took action.

Arrested at Airport Before Leaving Poland

Police tracked the suspects within hours of the reported attack.

On May 8, officers detained the four men at Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport while they were waiting for a return flight to Sweden.

The suspects were later brought before prosecutors and formally charged with armed robbery committed as a group.

Under Polish criminal law, robbery involving a weapon can carry a sentence of between 3 and 20 years in prison if convicted. Polish courts have already approved temporary detention while the investigation continues.

Violent Criminal Past of Main Suspect Raises Further Concern

Following the arrests, additional information about 23-year-old Arran Acib Ahmed has drawn major public attention.

Reports from Sweden indicate that Ahmed has a significant criminal history and has previously been convicted multiple times for violent offenses.

One of the most serious cases dates back to October 15, 2023.

Based on court documents referenced by Scandinavian media outlets, Ahmed was previously involved in a serious assault in Sweden, where he and several others allegedly attacked a 40-year-old man.

The victim was reportedly knocked to the ground and repeatedly kicked in the head.

Ahmed was convicted of aggravated assault and sentenced to prison.

The victim later died from severe brain injuries.

Reports indicate Ahmed served approximately one year and four months before being released. While Swedish authorities have not publicly linked that earlier conviction to the Polish case, the revelation has intensified public interest in the investigation.

International Attention Across Scandinavia

The case has sparked significant discussion across Nordic countries because it involves citizens from multiple European nations:

Countries connected to the case:

  • Sweden – nationality of the suspects
  • Norway – nationality of the victim
  • Poland – location of the alleged crime
  • Citizens

Law enforcement cooperation between European countries may play a role if extradition, prior criminal record verification, or international sentencing issues arise during the investigation.

Public Safety and Cross-Border Crime Concerns

The case has also renewed concerns about cross-border violent crime and tourist safety in major European cities.

Security analysts note that crimes involving visitors can attract immediate international attention because they affect tourism confidence and public safety perception.

Authorities in Poland have emphasized that the investigation remains active, and prosecutors are continuing to gather surveillance footage, witness testimony, and financial evidence linked to the alleged robbery.

What Happens Next?

Polish prosecutors say the suspects will remain in custody while investigators continue collecting evidence.

If convicted, the four Swedish citizens could face lengthy prison sentences under Polish law.

For Arran Acib Ahmed, the case carries additional public scrutiny due to his previously reported violent criminal background.

As the investigation develops, authorities in Poland are expected to release further updates regarding charges, evidence, and possible trial dates.

For now, the case remains one of the most closely watched cross-border criminal investigations involving Scandinavian citizens this month.
