Ukrainian Drone Manufacturer Skyeton Reports Office Destruction in Kyiv Strike
Ukrainian drone manufacturer Skyeton has confirmed that its main office in Kyiv was destroyed during a large-scale strike on the Ukrainian capital, adding to the growing damage caused by continued attacks on infrastructure and defense-linked facilities.
The company released a public statement after the incident, saying its administrative office in Kyiv was hit during the overnight attack. Despite the destruction, Skyeton said operations remain active because critical production facilities had already been relocated to different regions of Ukraine and partner locations abroad in anticipation of possible attacks.
The strike comes as Kyiv continues to face regular aerial assaults amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, with military, industrial, and civilian infrastructure remaining under constant threat.
Skyeton stated that its teams had prepared for such a scenario months in advance.
Skyeton said it had long recognized the possibility of becoming a military target and had prepared accordingly by strengthening its operational resilience.
“That is why we relocated our production capacity across different parts of Ukraine and outside the country.”
What Happened in Kyiv During the Attack?
According to the company, the strike took place during a fresh wave of attacks targeting Kyiv overnight. The attack caused severe structural damage to the company’s office building, which served as an administrative and coordination center.
While the office was destroyed, Skyeton confirmed that no interruption has been reported in its drone production lines. The company did not immediately report casualties among staff.
Emergency services in Kyiv were active across several districts following the attack as explosions were heard in multiple areas of the capital. Ukrainian officials have not yet released a complete damage assessment related to all targeted locations.
Skyeton Says Operations Continue Despite Damage
Production Facilities Were Relocated in Advance
Skyeton said the company had already taken protective steps due to the ongoing security threat in Ukraine.
According to its statement, the manufacturer distributed production and engineering operations across multiple locations inside Ukraine and in international partner facilities. This strategy, the company said, was designed to protect supply chains and maintain support for Ukraine’s defense forces.
As a result, the destruction of the Kyiv office is not expected to stop deliveries of drone systems.
Skyeton said it would continue its work and fulfill defense commitments despite the damage.
Skyeton and the Raybird Drone Program
Raybird Plays Key Role in Surveillance Missions
Skyeton is widely known for developing the Raybird, one of Ukraine’s most recognized reconnaissance drone systems.
The drone has reportedly been used by Ukrainian defense units since 2018 for intelligence gathering, border monitoring, artillery support, and battlefield surveillance.
Industry reports describe the Raybird as a long-endurance unmanned aircraft system designed for extended missions over difficult terrain.
Key capabilities often associated with the Raybird include:
- Long-range aerial reconnaissance
- Battlefield intelligence collection
- Border monitoring missions
- Target correction and observation support
- Real-time surveillance data transmission
Skyeton originally began as an aviation engineering company before expanding into military drone technology following regional security changes after 2014.
Growing Pressure on Ukraine’s Defense Industry
The reported destruction of Skyeton’s office highlights increasing pressure on Ukraine’s defense and technology sector during the conflict.
Defense manufacturers have become increasingly important in sustaining Ukraine’s operational capabilities, especially in drone warfare, reconnaissance systems, and battlefield intelligence support.
Military analysts say decentralized manufacturing has become a critical survival strategy for Ukrainian defense companies operating under wartime conditions.
By moving production assets away from a single location, companies reduce the risk of operational collapse after targeted strikes.
Strategic Impact of the Strike
Although Skyeton’s production network remains operational, the attack raises broader concerns about the security of Ukraine’s defense infrastructure.
Drone manufacturers play a growing role in modern warfare, and companies like Skyeton are considered strategically important due to their contribution to surveillance and operational planning.
Security experts note that targeting administrative centers can disrupt communication, logistics, and command coordination even when manufacturing itself continues.
Still, Skyeton’s preparedness suggests a wider shift within Ukraine’s defense industry toward resilient production systems.
Kyiv Remains Under Constant Threat
Kyiv has continued to face repeated missile and drone attacks throughout the conflict. Government buildings, energy facilities, transportation infrastructure, and industrial sites have all been affected during previous waves of strikes.
The latest attack once again demonstrates the vulnerability of major urban centers and the importance of rapid adaptation by strategic industries.
For now, Skyeton says its mission continues.
The company confirmed that despite losing its Kyiv office, its drone systems will continue supporting Ukrainian defense operations as production moves forward from secure locations.
