TEHRAN/BERLIN The US Bombs carried out fresh overnight strikes on Iranian infrastructure, hitting bridges in Hormozgan province and a surveillance tower at Chabahar port, as the conflict between Washington and Tehran entered a sixth consecutive night of attacks.
Bridges, Port, and Rail Targets Hit
US Bombs forces struck several bridges in southern Iran’s Hormozgan province overnight, killing at least eight people and wounding 20, according to Iranian media.
The bridges targeted routes connected to Bandar Abbas, a coastal city overlooking the Strait of Hormuz.
US Bombs Central Command said the strikes were part of continued operations to “further degrade Iranian military capabilities,” with reported targets including six bridges in Hormozgan province, an airport, a railway station in Bandar Abbas, and infrastructure near the coastal city of Bandar Khamir.
A surveillance tower at Chabahar’s Shahid Kalantari Port, belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), was destroyed the previous day.
US Central Command said the strike was intended to degrade the IRGC’s ability to track and target commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Casualties Reported in Hormozgan
At least eight people were killed and 20 injured in the bridge strikes, according to Iran’s state-run news agency.
Iranian media also reported explosions and attacks across Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, Chabahar, Iranshahr, and Bandar-e Khamir.
Iran’s Energy Ministry additionally acknowledged strikes affecting power infrastructure for the first time since the campaign began.
Iranian Retaliation Across the Gulf
Iran responded with missile attacks across the Gulf region, and the IRGC said it had destroyed two US Bombs radar installations in Oman, including maritime and air surveillance sites. Missiles were also launched toward Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
Qatar reported multiple interceptions over its territory. US Central Command has not detailed further specifics on the alleged counter-strikes.
Background: Sixth Night of Strikes
US Bombs Central Command said the latest assault began at 18:00 GMT on Thursday.
The strikes follow Israel’s earlier large-scale airstrikes on Iran and the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, which triggered the wider 2026 Iran war, prompting Iran to close the Strait of Hormuz and the US to impose a naval blockade on Iranian ports.
Tehran has condemned the strikes on civilian-adjacent infrastructure, while Washington maintains all targets are legitimate military logistics nodes tied to the IRGC’s operations.
