A 108-year-old woman was sexually assaulted and robbed inside her own apartment in Villeurbanne, a suburb of Lyon, prosecutors said, in a case that has drawn condemnation from French police unions and renewed debate over the safety of elderly residents living alone.
The 108-Year-Old Woman was found by her home caregiver on the morning of Aug. 7. Around 10:30 a.m., the caregiver arrived for a scheduled visit and discovered the victim partially undressed, sitting on her sofa in a state of shock.
