El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele has banned the “Edgar” haircut in public schools.

The hairstyle is believed to have been introduced by deported criminals influenced by Chicano culture in the United States.

The Ministry of Education announced that students in public schools must now attend with “proper haircuts,” clean uniforms, and correct personal presentation.
