A Thai court has dismissed a high-profile case against former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who was accused of violating Thailand’s strict lese-majeste laws. These laws criminalize almost all criticism of King Maha Vajiralongkorn.

According to Thaksin’s lawyer, the court dropped the case on Friday and cleared his client of all charges. However, the court has yet to publicly announce its decision.
