The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed that a Red Cross convoy is en route to collect the first group of Israeli hostages being freed by Hamas under the newly agreed Gaza ceasefire deal.

According to an official IDF statement, the handover will occur at a designated meeting point in northern Gaza, where several hostages will be transferred to the Red Cross. The military added that preparations are underway to receive more hostages expected to be released later.

Hamas’s armed wing has already released a list of 20 surviving hostages it intends to free as part of the ongoing truce agreement. The development marks a significant step toward easing tensions amid weeks of escalating violence in the region.
