Husband Charged in Brutal Murder of Former Miss Switzerland

Basel, Switzerland The husband of a former Miss Switzerland finalist has been formally charged with her horrific murder, authorities confirmed.

According to the Basel-Landschaft Public Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation into the suspected homicide, which occurred on February 13, 2024, in Binningen, is now complete.

Details released by the prosecutor reveal a shocking and gruesome crime. The husband allegedly removed his wife’s uterus, dismembered her body with a jigsaw, ground the remains in a blender, and dissolved them in acid, finally packing the remnants into garbage bags.

The victim, Kristina Joksimovic, originally from Binningen with Serbian roots, had been a finalist in the Miss Switzerland pageant and previously won the Miss Northwest Switzerland competition.

The couple, married in 2017, lived in a spacious home in an affluent Basel neighborhood. They leave behind two young children. Authorities are continuing the legal process as the community reels from the shocking crime.
