Finland has officially introduced its first F-35A stealth fighter jet, marking a major step in upgrading the countryโ€™s air defence capabilities.

The aircraft is part of a planned fleet of 64 F-35A jets, which will gradually replace Finlandโ€™s aging Hornet fighter jets by the year 2030.

The new fighters will be based at airfields close to Finlandโ€™s eastern border. Officials say the advanced jets will strengthen Finlandโ€™s defence readiness and improve cooperation with NATO allies.

The F-35A is designed for modern warfare, offering stealth features, advanced sensors, and real-time intelligence sharing. These capabilities are expected to enhance joint operations across the Baltic region and the High North.

The introduction of the F-35A reflects Finlandโ€™s long-term strategy to modernize its armed forces and contribute to regional security alongside its NATO partners.
