Ukraine has launched a large-scale strike on Russiaโs Black Sea Fleet, targeting the strategic port of Novorossiysk with a combination of naval and aerial drones.
According to early reports, several explosions were heard near key military facilities in the port, one of Russiaโs main naval bases outside Crimea. The attack marks one of Ukraineโs most significant attempts to hit Russian assets deep inside its territory.
While Russian officials confirmed โunmanned surface vesselsโ were intercepted, local sources reported damage to at least one warship. Emergency crews were deployed to contain fires and assess the scale of destruction.
Novorossiysk, located on Russiaโs Black Sea coast, is a critical hub for both military operations and commercial shipping. Analysts say the assault signals Ukraineโs growing use of advanced drone warfare to challenge Moscowโs naval dominance in the region.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has yet to provide full details of the incident, while Ukrainian officials have not issued an official statement.
