Romania scrambled combat aircraft after a Russian drone entered its airspace, officials said.

Current data show the drone penetrated about 10 kilometres into Romanian territory and operated in NATO airspace for roughly 50 minutes.

Poland also took military action today in response to the threat from Russian attack drones.

Both moves highlight rising tensions in the region.

Across Ukraine, Russian drones were active all day. They appeared in several regions, including the north near the Belarus border.

Preliminary reports indicate the drones used Belarusian airspace to cross into Ukraine toward Volyn.

Military analysts say these drone flights are carefully planned. The Russian military appears to know the drones’ flight paths and how long each will stay aloft.

Those patterns suggest the incidents are deliberate rather than accidental.

Observers warn this is a step-by-step expansion of the conflict by Russia small actions now that could lead to larger losses later.

NATO members and neighbouring countries are watching closely and increasing their responses.
